Chicago Public School teacher Mary Garramone (1905-1993) was born, raised, and worked on the Near West Side of Chicago. Garramone attended Jackson Elementary School and graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1922. She received a teaching certificate from Chicago Teacher's College and in 1944 she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in education from Loyola University.
